Person of Interest comes to Channel 4 this December

Aysha Rafaele’s new short film launches on Channel 4 on Monday 2nd December.

Mini cab driver Shakil Khan (Asim Chaudhry) – a British, Muslim, football loving Londoner – is having a dark night of the soul. His passengers all seem determined to irritate him – they eat chicken in his cab, they chat rubbish – and are either on their phones plotting news ways to gentrify the city or filming themselves. And then there’s the news. Full of fresh new horrors on the hour, every hour. All he wants is some calm, some quiet. But how to get it in this intense, fevered city?

At midnight he has a strange Kafkesque encounter with a mysterious surveillance officer who appears in his car (Craig Parkinson).

But is this man real or a product of Shakil’s paranoid, sleep deprived mind? The man won’t say who he is but it’s clear someone has ‘reported’ him. But who? And what is Shakil supposed to be guilty of?

As the night wears on Shakil becomes convinced that the person who has betrayed him is the person closest to him. His own wife ‘Alice’ (Posy Sterling). But the truth might be even darker. Will the Doctor (Julia Davis) that he goes to see be able to help him?
